 Analysis of last years work

     Foundation Portfolio

               (INSIDE)

Last year in AS Media we where asked to produce an opening sequence, with a choice of picking your own genre and storyline. This project has helped me develop my skills, as I learned different techniques in media such as  camera work, editing and After Effects. This has altered my understanding in producing a theatrical pyscological thriller film as I had combined my secondary reaserach on existing film in this perticular genre. As I had an idea of consuming a similar story based on the mind of a young female ,who suffered severe depression which has lead her to being sectioned in an instituite with people with similar diagnose.

On the other hand, theirs a young man who works as a porter who is by fact infactauted with this girl, thus why he always take her out and shows an interest to her in a more creepy way. H shows this by  applying red lipstick on her which also clearly shows he is some what  intrested in her.

His behaviuor also tells us he seemingly has psychological issues in his head, thus why he acts in this manner.

Furthermore, before we even started to create an opening sequence we learned key elelments on how to produce and film a movie which was very imortant as we would use it later on in the course.

The different techniques we learned and used in our opening sequence was over the shoulder, match on action, which portrayed the setting and different angles, shots to combine a variety of camera techniques. This project by far was enjoyable and fun as we learned to master our own film and working independently as well as groups to combine and mix ideas to get a sense of creativity in the media industry.

In contrast, to A2 media I have learned the diffrence of producing an opening sequence and music video, based on filming and more importantly cutting. Music video consume a high cut ratio and a wide range of shots and angle to look more intresting and fun.
